The baseline before results
TSMC has scheduled its third quarter 2026 conference for October 15 at 14:00 Taiwan time. Its published guidance lists revenue of US$44.6 billion to US$45.8 billion and a gross margin of 65% to 67%. Those figures are management guidance, not reported results or analyst consensus.

Growth and profitability answer different questions
Revenue growth shows the scale of demand being served. Gross margin shows how much remains after manufacturing costs. A company can expand rapidly while absorbing expensive capacity additions, a less favorable product mix or the cost of bringing new facilities into operation.
For that reason, compare reported revenue with the guidance range and inspect the margin explanation separately. Currency assumptions also matter when sales and production costs are measured in different currencies.
Capacity is a commitment
New fabrication and packaging capacity requires cash before the resulting sales arrive. The relevant question is whether spending is tied to durable customer demand and whether new production can reach economical utilization. Capacity announcements alone cannot establish the return on that investment.
A stronger scenario would combine demand visibility with improving utilization and a clear path from spending to cash generation. A weaker scenario would involve heavier investment without comparable visibility on customer orders. Neither scenario is asserted as the outcome of this report.
