Dashboard totals include the full tracked list; search and country filters apply to the table. Current value is a valuation estimate, not a company share price. A dash means unavailable. Latest acquisitions shows a disclosed purchase or holding change for the stated period.
About Public Companies Bitcoin Treasuries
A corporate Bitcoin treasury is Bitcoin held for a company’s own account. This dashboard brings dated company disclosures together, separates holdings from their current USD valuation and makes each reported balance traceable to its source. ETF assets and customer custody balances are outside this list.
Why do public companies buy Bitcoin for their treasury?
Companies may seek long-term exposure to Bitcoin, diversify a portion of their reserves or build a business around digital-asset ownership. Miners can also retain Bitcoin earned from mining. These strategies differ from holding cash: Bitcoin’s price is volatile, access may depend on custody arrangements, and pledged coins may not be available for operating expenses. Funding purchases with equity or debt can change shareholders’ exposure and financial risk.
How much Bitcoin does MicroStrategy own and why are they the largest corporate holder?
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, is the largest holder in this tracked dataset. Its row above shows the latest available disclosed balance and reporting date. The company has pursued repeated Bitcoin purchases and has used several forms of capital raising. Its aggregate Bitcoin balance is different from Bitcoin per share: new share issuance, financing costs and preferred-security obligations also matter when evaluating the company.
What are the current trends in corporate Bitcoin adoption and how does it impact the market?
Dedicated treasury businesses, operating companies and miners can acquire and manage Bitcoin in different ways. Compare disclosed purchases, sales, collateral restrictions and financing alongside total holdings. A large treasury does not prove that a company is buying today, and a change in a reported balance does not by itself identify an open-market transaction. This selected dataset cannot measure adoption across every public company or establish that corporate purchases caused a particular price move.
Data notes & methodology
Reconciliation and precision. Holdings use the units reported in each linked disclosure, without shortening the displayed total. This selected roster can differ from third-party trackers because coverage, report dates, restricted balances and legal-entity treatment differ. Duplicate ticker listings and announced purchase targets are not added to verified balances. Market prices and USD valuations remain estimates.
Coverage and dates. This is a selected, source-backed public-company roster, not a complete global census. The coverage line reports the current company count and range of holding dates. A reported zero is displayed as zero. Last update is the date of the holding, with the filing date shown separately. Rows can refer to different reporting dates and should not be treated as a synchronized balance sheet.
Sources and license. Treasury and miner datasets: Satoshi Gazette Data Desk, licensed under CC BY 4.0. FOLITIC supplements these datasets with verified SEC filings and issuer reports, normalizes company fields and calculates totals, country shares and current USD valuations. Each row links to the underlying regulatory or company disclosure. Bitcoin valuation prices use CoinLore. Legal jurisdictions for the additional miners are checked against SEC issuer records.
Double counting and restrictions. The treasury ledger takes precedence over the miners’ consolidated series. Hut 8’s attributed balance excludes American Bitcoin’s separately reported holdings. Different listings of the same issuer are not added together. Some balances include pledged or loaned Bitcoin; select a company for its disclosure limitations. These records do not independently verify wallets or custody.
Valuation and cost. Current value equals reported BTC holdings multiplied by the displayed Bitcoin USD price. It is not an audited fair value at the reporting date. Cost basis is an explicitly reported aggregate purchase cost for the same holding date, including fees where stated; missing cost is not inferred from current prices. For miners, reported purchases are distinct from mined Bitcoin. Holding changes may include transactions other than purchases.
Updates. The shared disclosure cache checks published datasets and supported SEC issuer filings every six hours, and this page checks the cache while open. Holding balances change only when a new disclosure is available. Bitcoin price checks use the site’s existing shared price feed. A failed refresh preserves the last valid snapshot and its dates. These are research data, not real-time corporate balances or investment advice.
