The evidence
Circle announced on September 10, 2026 that it would discontinue support for USDC and CCTP V1 on Noble. Its schedule set October 13, 2026 for the end of new issuance through Circle Mint, with redemptions continuing until January 12, 2027.
The announcement also described staged changes to transfer routes and limits. These are the issuer’s published transition dates. Users should verify the current route and redemption status before moving funds.

FOLITIC analysis
A falling token balance on Noble can reflect a planned migration rather than a collapse in demand for USDC. The essential question is where the value goes next. It may move to native USDC on another supported chain, remain within an exchange or be redeemed for bank money.
Those outcomes have different market implications. A chain migration changes the location of liquidity. A cash redemption reduces the issuer’s outstanding token supply. Counting both as the same kind of outflow would overstate how much capital has left the broader ecosystem.
Bridge activity can also become uneven around operational deadlines. Users may move earlier to avoid route restrictions, creating a temporary spike that does not represent speculative buying or selling.
What to watch
Compare Noble balances with destination chain receipts and aggregate USDC supply. Follow the issuer’s current support notices and avoid treating a scheduled infrastructure transition as unexplained whale selling.
