The evidence

The Mt Gox trustee’s published notice extended the deadline for base repayment, early lump sum repayment and intermediate repayment from October 31, 2025 to October 31, 2026, Japan time. The official site also carries notices about repayments in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

This analysis concerns the disclosed repayment process. It does not assert a fresh transfer, a current estate wallet balance or a scheduled market sale. The deadline is not an instruction for every creditor to sell on one day.

FOLITIC analysis

A distribution can change who controls assets without changing how much Bitcoin exists. Coins may move from an estate to a distribution partner, then to a creditor account, and later to personal custody. Counting every stage as independent selling would multiply a single economic event.

For market analysis, the uncertain step is what recipients choose after receiving funds. Some may sell, some may retain exposure and others may diversify gradually. The public timetable cannot establish that choice in advance.

A strong report would reconcile each identified transaction with the relevant trustee notice and clearly separate estate movements from subsequent exchange activity. Address labels should be checked at the time of the analysis.

What to watch

Use the trustee’s latest notices for changes to deadlines and eligibility. Treat estimates of remaining supply as dated estimates, and require additional evidence before turning a repayment movement into a claim about immediate market pressure.
