The development
A Solana article published October 5, 2026 introduced Microscope, an open source monitoring tool under the MIT license. It decodes program instructions and events into dashboards and alerts, with optional monitoring for a Squads multisig. Deployments monitor one program and an optional multisig, while health checks help distinguish a quiet program from a failing data connection.

FOLITIC analysis
Monitoring adds visibility, but it is not the same as preventing a loss. An alert still needs a responsible person, an escalation route and a tested response. A technically correct notification can be ineffective if it arrives after the team has lost the ability to act.
The meaning of the observed activity also requires care. A large transfer does not establish a sale, and a wallet address does not establish the identity of its controller. Automated systems can surface unusual events without supporting claims about an anonymous trader’s intentions. Publishing those claims as fact would go beyond the evidence.
For teams operating financial applications, the useful controls include permission changes, unexpected upgrades and interruptions in data collection. Monitoring only transaction volume can miss changes that alter who controls the system. A dashboard should therefore be connected to an explicit operational process rather than treated as a security certificate.
What to watch
Review access permissions, alert delivery, data freshness and how monitoring behaves during an outage. Test the response with harmless scenarios before relying on it during an incident. The tool improves observability, while independent review, secure key management and a practiced incident process remain separate parts of protection.
