The development
The Solana Foundation said on October 7, 2026 that Samsung Wallet would support international transfers using USDC on Solana for US users beginning in the last week of October. The announcement describes potential availability across 82 million US Galaxy devices. That figure represents distribution reach, not a count of active stablecoin users or completed transfers.

FOLITIC analysis
Embedding a payment option in an existing wallet can reduce the effort required to try it. Users may not need to understand a separate crypto application before making a transfer. Adoption still depends on whether the destination, identity checks and conversion process work for the person receiving the money.
The appropriate comparison is the amount the recipient can actually spend after all charges. A low network fee is only one component. Currency conversion, funding costs, withdrawal fees and the time required for a local bank credit can all affect the result. A digital transfer that is quick on the blockchain may still encounter delays at either end.
USDC usage and SOL investment demand are also distinct. Payment activity can generate network use, but the relationship with a network token depends on fee levels and other economic mechanisms. Device availability alone provides no basis for calculating a token price target.
What to watch
Check the final launch scope, eligible destinations, fee disclosures and evidence of repeat use. The service was planned, rather than already universally available, in the announcement reviewed here. Treat subsequent rollout changes as new information instead of assuming that every eligible device becomes a payment customer.
