Providers Execution and Protection · CFDs Trading Guide

A clean execution record makes platform problems easier to diagnose. Reconstruct what was requested, what was available and what actually happened.

Capture the order lifecycle

Keep the instrument identifier, quantity, direction, order type, requested price, timestamps and confirmation number. Record account timezone and the quote side used. Save amendments, cancellations and partial fills as separate events. A screenshot without timing or order context is weaker evidence than a complete sequence.

Compare like with like

A fill should be compared with an executable quote for the same contract at the relevant time, not a different futures maturity or a delayed public chart. Note spread changes and market status. A worse fill may reflect legitimate slippage, an instruction setting or an error. The record should help distinguish them without assuming the conclusion.

Prepare for loss of access

Know the provider alternative contact route and what it can or cannot do during an outage. Do not assume a backup device guarantees market access. Attached orders may operate differently from instructions that exist only locally. Test the documented workflow with a demonstration environment and retain important contact information separately from the trading screen.

Reconcile and escalate factually

Compare positions, cash, funding and corporate action entries against the statement. If an item is disputed, identify the exact order and expected treatment, attach the evidence and use the formal complaint route. Keep the dispute separate from the market thesis. An unresolved execution problem is a reason to review exposure and process reliability.

Try it yourself

Your public chart shows 101 while a sell fill is 100.40. Name three facts needed before concluding the fill was incorrect.

Show the worked answer

Check the precise contract and data delay, the executable bid at the order time, and the order type with its execution or tolerance rules. Quantity and market conditions can also matter.
